Brushstrokes of Light:

Exploring the Journey of Fine Art Oil Painting with Julie Brayton

Big changes have happened recently.

As I plan a big campaign to promote my Painting The Color Of Light Course I decided I needed a new all-in-one platform.

I have been teaching for around 5 or 6 years now.

I have learned so much!

It’s easy to get caught up in our own heads, thinking from our own familiar perspective. I’ve noticed that when people come through my booth at shows the difference with my expectations and theirs.

In this case, I’ve had to learn to think like my students. I started painting at 13 so the fear factor just wasn’t there. In addition some things I did along the way, I don’t remember there being names to like “Value”, I just new what to do but I found many people don’t know what that means. I also have learned to explain what I do better and better as time goes on.

One of my students has been with me for 4 years now. I noticed a lot of people in general tend be impatient or ADHD. I won’t lie, I can be a little tough in that I am a bit relentless with making sure my students slow down a follow my lead. If they don’t, well, I make them wipe it out! Lol!

I will admit it’s been challenging. I try to find the middle of the road with teaching what I teach and making my students happy. I’ve noticed we both have been molded and as a result have grown.

I am very dedicated to the study of this art of seeing. There are so many levels of development that can happen when my students listen and follow along. My students not fully understanding that want quick fixes. Eventually they settle in because they start to see the “Light”

All of this has improved my course content and how I work with my students. My new Platform not only holds the course content but also is where the community is, now off Facebook, and Live events are there too, instead of Zoom.

I found that some people are not good with texting or email or Facebook. Now an app is added to the students device where a notification will pop up when there is activity along with an email. Notifications can be controlled by each person as well.

I have a few different tiers or options for people to choose from. Starting with a quick start where a person can paint along, painting a wave. It offers that quick fix and chance to see if this is for you. From there, a Mini Color Guide Course that starts the student understanding color. Following with more indepth course content that offers steps to gain an intimate understanding of color and how to see what light does to color.

Once a student has completed course material and training, they can continue to stay connected in a monthly paid community where additional step by step painting and critiques happen.

I now also have live online 4-5 weekly classes and an 8 week self study program that offers weekly live critiques and training.

As someone already a part of my email you can recieve the How To Paint A Wave for Free.

Click The link Below.

I sell that on my website for $149 and have a special offer to others for a limited time at $27.

See the recent works in progress of some of my students below. They worked on these since these photos. I’ll send you the update.

My Why

My goal or mission is to bring reminders and connection to the importance each individual has through the connection to nature. How we all can honor the essence of who we have always been meant to be. Creativity, whether through collecting art or creating it, is a healing force that allows us to embrace, tell and own our stories in a transformative and ultimately joyful way.

How does nature and art make you feel? Would painting add another dimension for you?
