This course is an in-depth study of the impressionist way of seeing color. In here you get foundation instruction on understanding color. In addition you will receive basic instructions on drawing and composition. I share studies I received when attending RISD. As you progress you will apply what you’ve learned to the still life and landscape with an overview on how it would apply to figures and portraits. You will learn to develop your own style as once you understand how to see and apply color you can do everything from abstract, impressionism and realism. Work is done primarily in oils but can be done in acrylic and pastel. This understanding can be applied to watercolor once the fundamentals of color are learned in one of the other aforementioned mediums.
