To Start, Your Palette Should Be Laid Out Like This And Stay That Way.
You should never start painting without your palette laid out.
Colors are laid out in each color category from cool to warm in the fashion of a rainbow.

This example demonstrates what my students have been doing. Once you have the Masterson Palette you want a gray sheet of paper and a piece of glass, not plexiglass, to fit inside perfectly. Before assembling, label your colors around the edge of the paper in the order mentioned. Place your glass over it inside the palette. This has helped students to identify the colors they need to use with ease.
